The Theoretical Nuclear Analysis of the MH-1A: Cores 2 and 3

Abstract

The report presents the methods and results of the theoretical analysis of the nuclear properties of MH-1A Cores 2 and 3. The basic physical parameters are obtained by use of two cross-section codes, LEOPARD and LEOPROD, an X-Y geometry depletion code TURBO*, plus a Z-axial calculation using the CNCR-2 code together with the HOMOG and PEAK processor codes. The theory, results, and input details of the LEOPROD blackness theory code giving absorber region constants are considered in some detail.
