Doppler Shift in Frequency in the Transport of Electromagnetic Waves Through an Underdense Plasma,

Abstract

A transport equation for the intensity of electomagnetic radiation scattered by an underdense plasma has recently been derived by Watson. However, the Doppler shift in frequency due to the motion of the scattering electrons was neglected. This work extends the transport theory to include any frequency shift of the scattered waves.
