The Detector of Atmospheric Electric Disturbances.

Abstract

The Air Force specifications to Arthur D. Little, Inc., for instrumentation to detect lightning and high electric fields are summarized. The equipment prepared to meet these Air Force specifications and identified as The Detector of Atmospheric Electric Disturbances is described in detail. Three Detectors of Atmospheric Electric Disturbances have been installed at three Air Force weather stations: one at Patrick Air Force Base, one at Hill Air Force Base, and the last at Scott Air Force Base.
