Experiments in Automatic Classification.

Abstract

The report discusses computer experiments performed on an unclassified file of 4,000 documents from the Air Force Office of Aerospace Research. The computer algorithm being tested is one which generates a library classification automatically given the coordinate indexed document descriptions. The report also discusses an implementation of a random access IS and R system which is designed to utilize this classification for the optimization of mass memory allocation. (Author)
