The Service-Related Experience of a Sample of Juvenile Delinquents. III. The Predictive Significance of Juvenile Confinement,

Abstract

The document is the third in a series of reports of a study of the service-related outcome of a large sample of former juvenile delinquents. The groups concerned were drawn from metropolitan areas in two different states in different parts of the country. Cases employed were those who were born between the dates of January 1, 1928 and December 31, 1935, a Korean War group. The prediction of adult outcome, either of rejection for service or of unsatisfactory adjustment in service, is a multivariate problem of substantial complexity. The present report explores the relationship between one type of variable, a history of juvenile confinement, and subsequent outcome in relation to the service. (Author)
