U. S. Army Type II Geodetic Satellites. Volume I.

Abstract

The purpose of Army Contract DA-44-009-AMC-866(X) is to provide all engineering, labor, equipment, facilities, and supplies necessary to produce one mockup, and three flight models of the U. S. Army Type II Geodetic Satellite. Two of the spacecrafts, S/N 4 and S/N 6, contain a modified and ruggedized TR-27 transponder. The remaining spacecraft (S/N 5) contains an ITT Federal Laboratories Model 101 transponder. These transponders are GFE. The three spacecraft also contain the related power supply and telemetry to be utilized in conjunction with the Geodetic SECOR system. This report contains a complete history of the modification, fabrication, and testing employed in the subject program. The report also includes appropriate test analysis, circuit diagrams, data on component parts and other pertinent information. (Author)
