Turbine Disk Burst Protection Study.

Abstract

The problem of uncontained failures of turbo-machinery is studied. Modes of failure and failure statistics for commercial and military air experiences are presented. A review of tested and possible containment devices is made. The objectives of a containment evaluation program recently initiated are presented. (Author)
