Annual Hurricane Summary - 1970.

Abstract

The report is prepared annually in accordance with COMNAVWEASERVINST 5450.6 to provide tropical cyclone data for the North Atlantic, Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. The material is presented in three parts. The first part consists of a composite storm track, summary of forecasts issued, and a summary of the 1970 season. The second part includes a narrative, best track chart and maximum wind speed graph for each individual named tropical cyclone. The third part presents, by written summary, graphs and tables, the evaluation of forecasts, and forecasting techniques used during the 1970 season. Also included in this part, for comparison purposes, is an evaluation of data over a period of several years. (Author)
