Photoemission and Optical Studies of the Electronic Structural of Solids.

Abstract

Ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy and optical spectra was used to study the electron energy states, optical excitation processes, final state interactions, and hot electron scattering processes in metals, semi-metals, and nonmetals. Very thin films of alkaline earth metals have been used to control the photoemission threshold (work function). (Author)
