The Bauschinger Effect in a Series of Nickel-Cobalt Alloys.

Abstract

A commercially pure nickel and four different polycrystalline nickel-cobalt alloys were overstrained various amounts up to 5% in tension and reverse strained in compression. The Bauschinger strain, according to Wooley's definition, was determined and found to be dependent on the amount of plastic strain and the composition. (Author)
