Combined Study of Electromagnetic Pulse Forming for Chemical and Ordnance Munition Work.

Abstract

In the Electromagnetic pulse forming (EMPF) program, several points of interest were investigated. Among these were the following: Behavior of photoelastic coatings in the presence of rapidly changing magnetic fields; Change in properties of adhesives and reflective coatings in magnetic fields; Technique of photoelastic measurement during the high transitory rate of the changing field; Correlation of data between strain gauges and photoelastic measurement in changing magnetic fields; and Technique of recording the measurements.
