Ferrohydrodynamic Propulsion.

Abstract

The possibility of using a ferromagnetic fluid to generate pressure forces for propulsion of sea vehicles is examined. Estimates are made for the magnetic field strengths required. Preliminary experiments are briefly described and some proposed changes in accepted theory. The feasibility of such propulsion is established theoretically. (Author)
