A Dipeptidyl Carboxypeptidase that Converts Angiotensin I and Inactivates Bradykinin.

Abstract

The results of these experiments indicated that both angiotensin I and bradykinin are substrates of dipeptidyl carboxypeptidase; thus, the enzyme can inactivate the hypotensive peptide bradykinin and liberate the hypertensive angiotensin II. The reaction is inhibited by dipeptide split products and by the B-chain of insulin. (Author)
