Strength and Thixotropic Properties of Thawed Soil (Prochnosti i Tiksotropnye Svoistva Ottayavshikh Gruntov),
Abstract
This paper contains an investigation of problems connected with variation of stability and supporting capacity of thixotropic and quick ground in the base of the earthen road bed and the soils put in the fill. When solving the problems of stability of structures it was necessary to establish under what conditions and in what types of soils with respect to composition and moisture the given properties occur and how this is reflected in the strength characteristics of the soil.
