An Extension of Sonagraph Writing Facilities Using the Storage Oscilloscope,

Abstract

To enable the fine structure of geomagnetic events to be examined in more detail, the Sonagraph, Model 661A, has been used to reconstruct the spectrum on the face of an oscilloscope storage tube. This oscilloscopic technique has been used in various applications, but the aim of this note is to draw attention to the simplicity with which the Sonagraph may be adapted to it. The result has been a worthwhile improvement in both resolution and contrast, together with variable time expansion. (Author)
