Environmental Stress Corrosion Cracking of Glass

Abstract

A review is presented on the effect of environment on the strength of glass. The structure of glass and its strength in the absence of environment are discussed briefly. Experimental results on environmental cracking of glass are presented. Theoretical treatments are given and discussed with respect to available experimental data. (Author, modified-PL)
