Seminar Program for Professional and Supervisory Health Care Personnel: Development and Evaluation.

Abstract

The report covers the development, administration, and evaluation of a management seminar program for the U. S. Navy Medical Department. The program was one phase of broader scope project designed to analyze and evaluate the long-range educational and training requirements of the U. S. Navy Medical Service Corps. Seminar activities included a presentation of a special problem analysis technique; small discussion groups sometimes composed of participants from homogeneous functions, at othe times from heterogeneous functions; a group ranking and influence task; management styles discussions; and intergroup observation tasks. Qualitative evaluative data were gathered in terms of participants comments. Quantitative evaluative data were collected through use of the Leasdership Opinion Questionnaire, Management Values Index, Management Style Questionnaire (MSQ), and the Personal Values Questionnaire.
