Abstract

The paper was presented to the Symposium on Nonlinear Functional Analysis sponsored by the Mathematics Research Center, University of Wisconsin, Madison, April, 1971. Recent developments in the theory of nonlinear semigroups are surveyed, with emphasis on the joint work of the author and T. M. Liggett. New applications to certain partial differential equations are sketched. (Author)
