Recent Sediments of the Gulf of Alaska (Sovremennye Osadki Zaliva Alyaska),

Abstract

About 400 samples of bottom deposits have been collected during the last years in the Gulf of Alaska by Soviet oceanographical expeditions. On the shelf of the Gulf of Alaska, characterized by a rather rugged topography, zones of intensive sediment accumulation are alternating with zones of reduced sedimentation. Terrigenous deposits are dominant, represented by sediments of all granulometric types. (Author)
