Documentation for Cargo Movement.
Abstract
The report provides a review of the present status of governmental and commercial efforts aimed at simplifying documentation for cargo movement. It presents the procedures and paperwork used to move freight for government account by commercial carrier, and highlights the points of interface between both sectors. It concludes with recommendations for specific action that will lead to a common system and standarized format for documenting the movement of cargo by commercial carrier, for both the government and private shipper.
