Experience in Office Interpretation with the Interpretoscope (Opyt Kameralnogo Deshifrirovaniya s Ispolzovaniem Interpretoskopa),

Abstract

The use of the interpretoscope for office interpretation of aerial photographs makes possible an improvement in the process in general and an improvement in map quality. It is most convenient to employ contact prints as the information source. The experiment described in this paper indicated that in the topographic interpretation of photographs at 1:50,000 for compiling a map at 1:25,000 many features are shown incorrectly (completely or partially); this is an undesirable feature. When aerial photographs at larger scales are interpreted, the interpretoscope gives a considerable effect. (Author)
