Reliability Study of Power Conditioning Ancillary Items.

Abstract

Several ancillary items were investigated and new circuits developed. These included the igniter drive, the flame sensor, and the blower drives. The main air blower configuration was given some attention with inconclusive results. An automatic fuel feed circuit was developed and was rigorously evaluated mathematically, with computer simulation, and actual thermopile simulation. Results were encouraging and a prototype was delivered to ECOM. An auto-start system was investigated. Included in the investigation was battery type, battery charger, start-up sequence, efficiency, and switching circuitry to implement auto-start. (Author)
