The Meteorological Complex of the Television Tower in Ostankino (Moscow) (Meteorologicheskii Kompleks Televizionnoi Bashni v Ostankino (Moskva)),
Abstract
At the present time a complex of meteorological observations is being carried out in the lower atmospheric level (500 m) with automatic continuous weather tracking on the 533-meter Ostankino television tower in Moscow. The purpose of the complex is to provide in response to inquiries of the weather service and other organizations meteorological information for separate altitudes in the lower atmospheric level, as well as to provide for the study of weather in conjunction with the ordinary development of meteorological processes and during dangerous conditions, including storms, fog, low cloud levels, squalls, snowstorms, heavy rains and glazed frost-rime phenomena.
