Defects in Oxide Ceramics.
Abstract
Dielectric and anelastic loss techniques, along with thermal depolarization spectra have been used to characterize surface and bulk point defects in MgO, CaF2 doped with oxygen and sodium and reduced SrTiO3. OH(-) surface defects in water treated MgO were found. The researchers confirmed the group theoretical analysis technique for point defect notions in CaF2, attributed the extra peaks in the thermal depolarization spectra of CaF2 doped with NaF as due to dipole-dipole interaction effects and have determined the high temperature predominant defect in SrTiO3 to be a titanium interstitial.
