Long Term Effect of MIL-C-10597 Cleaning Compound on Members of the Engine Cooling System and Its Cooling Efficiency.

Abstract

The long term effect of the cleaning and reconditioning process of Military Specification MIL-C-10597C on the life and efficiency of engine cooling systems has been studied. Since laboratory tests and simulated dynamometers could not supply the needed information, field tests using post vehicles operated as taxis were conducted so that high mileage could be accumulated in a reasonable time. The tests have shown that no adverse effects on the radiator and cooling system are encountered. There was no effect on the efficiency of the cooling system and no difficulty was found during the life of the vehicles. (Author)
