Shape Synthesis, II,

Abstract

The document is concerned with the computer synthesis of classes of natural shapes and patterns. Computer programs have been written to facilitate the construction of shape outlines and medial axes through interaction with the computer via teletype. These programs have been applied to the synthesis of shape classes such as noses and leaves. Other programs have been written that allow the user to construct approximations to the medial axes of given shapes and to compare the shapes reconstructed from these approximations to the original shapes.
