Study of Concepts for Navy Communications.

Abstract

Recent developments indicate improvements might be realized in Naval tactical voice communication nets by considering various alternatives to present signaling and supervisory control techniques and equipment. The objective of this program was to formulate and develop an analytical model based on queueing theory for the purpose of evaluating possible improvements. The improvements were considered in the framework of (1) Fundamental system alternatives, (2) Singaler function alternatives, (3) Net, personnel and equipment grouping alternatives and (4) Signaling equipment sophistication alternatives.
