The Surface Structure of the Pre-Riphean Basement of the Siberian Platform (Strujtura Poverkhnosti Dorifeiskogo Fundamenta Sibirskoi Platformy),
Abstract
The explanation of such a deep tectonic surface as the surface of the Siberian platform is very difficult. This surface is called tectonic because it does not have a strictly determined stratigraphic position, and its age is not the same on various sections of the platform. In some cases it is confined to a large temporary break in the sedimentation and in others it is traced inside an almost continuous cross section. It is characteristic that the basement surface separates to some degree the non-metamorphosed rocks occurring above it, from the metamorphosed rocks on the entire area of the platform. This paper is a report in detail of the location of this surface in different regions of the platform. (Author)
