Estimate of the Amplitudes of Oil and Gas Bearing Structures of Southern Mangyshlak and Southern Ustyurt According to Geophysical Data (Otsenka Amplitud Neftegazonosnykh Struktur Yuzhnogo Mangyshlaka i Yuzhnogo Ustyurta po Geofizicheskim Dannym),

Abstract

The paper is an analysis of a basically different evaluation of density characteristics, and a quantative interpretation of the anomalies recorded on the territory of Southern Mangyshlak and Southern Ustyurt. The suggested procedure for estimating the amplitude of structures by the intensity of local anomalies, in case distinct density boundaries in the profile of the Mesocenozoic layers are absent, permits a quantitative interpretation of the gravity anomalies in Mangyshlak and Ustyurt. Anomalies interpreted as local elevations must be studied by means of deep drilling. In this way it will be possible to increase considerably the stock of strucutres, promising in oil and gas content, in the areas of Southern Mangyshlak and Southern Ustyurt. (Author)
