Effect of a Priori Data on Solutions for Parameters.

Abstract

Use of a priori data with uncertainties which are small compared to standard errors of the parameters based on observational data alone yield values for the parameters which are closer to the a priori data than the uncertainty implied by the standard error in the a priori data. While such a result should not deter one from the use of a priori estimates, it must be considered in the interpretation of the results. (Author)
