The 'Kvarts' Pulsed-Light Range Finder with Laser (Svetodalnomer 'Kvarts' Opticheskim Kvantovym Generatorom Sveta),

Abstract

The article describes the 'Kvarts' pulsed-light range finder and its testing. The light source in this range finder is a LG-56 compact laser. The receiver-transmitter weighs about 25 kg. The outfit operates at four modulation frequencies. Measurements were taken during the daytime and nightime under different meteorological conditions. It was found that for lines 5.3, 11.9 and 22.5 km in length the mean relative errors were 1:390,000, 1:630,000 and 1:780,000.
