Abstract
The study of the World Ocean for the purpose of utilization of its energy, food, and mineral resources has been accompanied by an ebulient expansion of the scale of the marine investigations. Their effectiveness is determined first of all by the apparatus and equipment which they utilize. During the last ten years, the equipment used in oceanographic investigations was basically changed by implementation of the newest technological, radioelectronic and computer means. The Marine Hydrophysical Institute of the Uk. SSR Academy of Sciences (MHI) brought about this renewal in an orderly consecutive fashion. (Author)
