Turbulence Measurements in Liquids,

Abstract

The symposium was designed to bring together people of all disciplines interested in liquid turbulence measurements. A recent important development is the laser doppler velocimeter which has the major advantage of not requiring a probe and hence of not dinturbing the flow at low velocities. Measurements in Newtonian liquids were reported. The third session, in modified fluids, dealt with stratified liquids, dilute polymer solutions, and gas-liquid systems. The fourth session also dealt with Newtonian liquids, including stability measurements in rotating pipes.
