Investigation of Actual Flow Stresses During Tension with Superplasticity,

Abstract

The curves of actual flow stresses during tension of conventional metals at high temps. and of superplastic eutectoid Al-Zn were investigated, indicating a sharp difference between them during the course of the flow stresses. Peculiar to pure metals is strengthening during hot deformation, which finishes up by a sudden fracture of the samples. Three deformation periods are observed on the curves showing the actual flow stresses.
