Soviet Computer Problems Discussed,

Abstract

The article discusses the 'software gap' in the Soviet computer situation. Among the authors' recommendations are the introduction of time-sharing, the establishment of standard routine libraries, better and more programmer training, the initiation by Soviet industry of terminal equipment production, and a variety of administrative and managerial changes. Specific Soviet systems mentioned the 'L'vov,' the 'Sirena,' and the 'AIST'. (Author)
