Newly Developed Computers at the Central Research Institute for Physics.
Abstract
The Central Research Institute for Physics at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences reports the development of two electronic computers. One, designated TPA, is a small universal computer designed for use as a satellite unit for computer systems, for performing data transmission, data collection, and data reduction tasks, for teaching purposes, and certain process-control tasks. The other computer, designated NTA 512 B, is a wired-program computer with a 1 K ferrite-cort memory capacity, 16-bit work length and a cycle time of 16 mu sec. This unit is suitable for plotting amplitude and time histograms, for plotting latency histograms, for oscillographing single processes, for increasing the signal to noise ratio by averaging, and for measuring autocorrelation and cross correlation.
