Photon-Phonon Interaction in Radiative Recombination by the Impurity Center in ZnS:Mn,

Abstract

Analysis of light emission spectra obtained by cathodoluminescence shows a phonon assisted process. In order to determine the nature of the participating phonon, light scattering experiments are presented. The results show clearly that the phonon participating in the radiative recombination in ZnS:Mn is the resonant impurity breathing mode whose frequency is 297 reciprocal cm. (Author)
