Nonrelativistic Energy Loss of Charged Particles in Anisotropic Media,

Abstract

The energy loss of a nonrelativistic charged particle moving through an anisotropic medium is calculated by the method of Landau. The results are presented in terms of a power series in the direction cosines of the path of the particle relative to the direction chosen to describe the dielectric constant. The coefficients in the series expansions are given in terms of integrals involving the various dielectric constants. (Author)
