On Some Contributions to Multiple Decision Theory.

Abstract

In the paper the authors discuss the multiple decision (selection and ranking) rules in a general decision theoretic framework. More specifically, the paper describes the subset selection problem. The earlier part of the paper describes the general framework and gives some known results for sake of completeness; in the latter part of the paper the authors give some new results dealing with the subset selection problem for a class of discrete distributions (Section 2). Some relevant tables for these procedures are included. The derivation of rules with some desirable property is made in Section 3 using the likelihood ratio cirterion. (Author)
