Analytical and Experimental Capabilities of the Picatinny Arsenal RF Hazard Evaluation Organization,

Abstract

The Instrumentation Section of the Technical Services Laboratory, Ammunition Engineering Directorate, has established a unique RF hazard test facility. Field testing is performed over the frequency range of 100 kilohertz through 18 gigahertz. These tests are performed using the latest type log periodic antennas, field intensity measuring equipment, high powered transmitters and data recording equipment which will permit simulation and measurement of virtually any EMR environment. Laboratory testing can also be performed over the frequency range of dc to 18.0 gigahertz. Theoretical RF Hazard System Analysis and RF Hazard Testing are performed by an experienced staff of specialists in the fields associated with this type of work. (Author)
