Metalloids. A New Basis for Heat-Resistant Materials (Metallidy. Novaya Osnova Zharoprochnyu Materialov),

Abstract

The report discusses intermetallic compounds (metalloids) which show prospects for heat resistant materials. They maintain many properties inherent in metals. Some metalloids such as Ni3Al, NiTi; Ti3Ag, are pliable at high temperatures and sometimes at low temperatures. Metalloids can be mixed as alloys and the results are more heat resistant than the constitutent parts. (Author)
