The Logistics of Supply Distribution in a Theater of Operations,

Abstract

The paper describes some of the combinations of the logistic pipeline flow of supplies from COMMZ as point of origin to forward areas (divisional and/or non-divisional) in a theater of operations. It addresses the special cases of pipeline flow, namely, direct delivery to using units and segmented delivery in which supplies are held at tandem holding points prior to delivery to the consuming unit upon requisition.
