Electric Arc Smelting of Metals Under Pressure (Ehlektrodugovaya Plavka Metallov Pod Davleniem),
Abstract
A study of phenomena during electric arc smelting at increased gas pressures (arc burning, gaseous retention, metal crystallization, high temperature evaporation) is made. Special attention is paid to chromium and molybdenum alloys smelted in the presence of easily-vaporizing additives. An experimental electric arc furnace is described. (Authro)
