Simply-Supported and Clamped Cylindrical Shell under Concentrated Load Applied to a Central Reinforcing Ring.

Abstract

The stress analysis of a circular finite shell circumferentially stiffened is presented. The stiffener is attached to the shell half way between the supports and is subjected to a radial concentrated load, a tangential concentrated load, and a concentrated moment. All of the loads are in the plane of the stiffener. Two cases of shell supports are considered, built-in and simply-supported. The stress and displacement distributions in the shell and stiffener are presented in the form of curves. (Author)
