Financial Obligations by DOD for Military Research and Development,

Abstract

The amounts of money obligated by DoD during 1958-1969 for military research and development are briefly summarized. General trends are shown for the total amounts obligated; the amounts obligated for the new area of DoD interest (astronautics) and the 7 traditional areas of DoD interest (missiles, aircraft, ordnance and combat vehicles, ships and small craft, other equipment, programwide management and support, and military sciences) and the amounts obligated by each department (USAF, Navy, Army, and Defense Agencies). The data summarized was compiled from information submitted to Congress over the past 12 years. (Author)
