The Aggregation of Servicing Facilities in Queueing Processes,

Abstract

The paper is concerned with the problem of finding the conditions under which individual service facilities should be aggregated in order to perform a certain workload in an optimal way. This is a problem of widespread application to the many production or repair activities which are characterized by a stochastic flow of workload units through a service facility. (Author)
