Congressional Airport Congestion Study. Part II,

Abstract

The report was prepared to provide information on principal airport congestion and its cause and effect. The study is a consolidation of information obtained from various data sources, including government and industry from which a comprehensive analysis was made to determine the probable cause and degree of air carrier delay in operations at major airports. Included in the study is an analysis of load factors and composition of passenger loads, a detailed analysis of peak period delay data and a summary of operations and delay data for the airports studied for the study timeframe. The study summarizes the probable causes o of air carrier delay in operations at the major airports and recommendations to alleviate the source of delay. (Author)
