A Versatile Lightweight Data System Suitable for Physiological Research.

Abstract

Modern advances in domestic and commercial electronic audio equipments offer low power consumption and small size with adquate performance for a range of tasks which are usually performed with apparatus that is unnecessarily expensive. The report describes the application of two such equipments, a small portable tape recorder and a 'radio miccrophone' transmission link, to provide a versatile data system having two channels of moderate accuracy. The systems are complementary and use common sub-assemblies to a large degree. Design data is included for those items which for technical or economic reasons have no direct commercial equivalent.
