Power Plant, 1.5 KW DC, Turbine Driven, Organic Rankine Cycle.
Abstract
Development of 1.5 KW Organic Rankine Cycle Powerplant is described. The cycle operates on FC-75 (Perfluoro-2 Butyl Tetrahydrofuran) which is vaporized in the super-critical region. It uses a dual alternator, turbine driven, with appropriate power conditioning circuits. Main alternator output voltage is compliant to adjustable current limit controls. Design features which should make the set inaudible in a quiet jungle at 100 meters are described. Although the report contains component design information and some component test data no full set operation data is provided because the set was not started up. (Author)
