Iron Pyrophosphate,

Abstract

Iron pyrophosphate is prepared by autoclaving amorphous iron phosphate (III), which was prepared by the reaction of 87 percent orthophosphoric acid and carbonyl iron powder, for 4 hours at 174.5 degrees. This product exhibits endothermal effects at 555 and 720 degrees and an exothermal effect at 645 degrees. The product was also studied by X-ray and IR analysis. (Author)
